Recently Google announced their idea of a tool called Google PowerMeter, which will let the electricity users know their power consumption in approximately real time through a igoogle gadget. It will help the users know their consumption pattern , energy saving potential, control their bills and a way to smarter power as they say.

They are advocating the idea of real smart power metering which will let the know their data in a standard non proprietary format.

They have also invited utilities, meter manufacturers and Government agencies to work together. Let us see how it takes shape in future.

It was almost midnight when I opened a mail by Sumanth Reddy with the subject 'Our friend is in trouble'. The subject line indicated that something wrong has happened and it was. It was a shocking news of a car accident of our batchmate Satyen. I could not believe it. I checked it on Orkut and the scapbook had that news.

"just to let u kno..satyen lahkar had a very bad car accident..he is in coma..addmitted in down town hospital guwahati..please pray for him.."

The next day Navdeep's mail confirmed the new of his car accident on 13th January.As per his talk with Satyen's father-in-law, Satyen was driving his car on  13th January when the tyre of a bus coming from opposite direction burst and the bus rammed into Satyen's car. Satyen is still in coma. He has got deep head injury, his one lung and one hand are also damaged.

It is really a horrible news at the start of a new year. We all are concerned and are praying to God for his wellness. May God help him.

Hi all,

I have started adding power links of states and the Profiles of participants, one by one, as I have very short time available for this, after my tight office schedule. I have added links of AP and UP, & Profile of Satish Mistri.

I have taken Profile from your placement brochure. If any one need it in a different look and style and those who dont have it in brochure, please send me your profile in MS word or jpg photo format and I will publish that. If anyone has alternate idea, please inform me.
